Killing time until my grandmother gets home because I need to go to the grocery store for her later.
Looks like Pete Abrams is trying to backdoor in some of the Oceans Unmoving crap into the current Sluggy storyline. Now, I understand that sometimes webcomics change over time. But I wonder if I'm the only guy who got tired of the regular comic being put on hold for "Bun-Bun high fantasy adventures," and thus got even more annoyed at seeing them bringing up the 'Oceans Unmoving' plot again. I mean, if Pete's just brought Bun-Bun back to reality just to have the regular characters play second fiddle to the ridiculously unfunny (as opposed to funnily ridiculous), I think that'll be it.
Silent Hill opens this weekend. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.
Also, I owe you guys a LARP report. Sorry, the week's just flown by.
We didn't play Changeling this week. The weather was really crummy, and by the time it started to clear up we just couldn't get enough players together in time to actually get any playing in.
The weekly gathering of the Sabbat of Morgantown was interrupted by the appearance of a hideous vampire. He showed us a video of the local Dominion of the Black Hand, cutting a deal with the Camarilla in the city. The video was interrupted by a huge, familiar tentacle smashing through the window and grabbing the guy.
A moment later, the Dominion stepped out, having just dispatched the Nosferatu Primogen in town. An argument broke out between the Dominion and a bunch of the other vampires, arguing over how the Dominion's trying to run the whole show. Someone challenged him to Monomacy, which was settled over a game of chess, and he lost.
Shortly afterwards, we dealt with Brodry's recent challenge to the Sheriff of the city in one-on-one combat. The fight took forever, due to one of the Sabbat being found in Obfuscate trying to watch, and a lot of commentary from the peanut gallery arguing over assorted rules calls. After the fight went badly for the Sheriff and a Tremere flunky used Thaumaturgy to cheat, everyone else got the hell out of there while Brodry finished incapacitating the Sheriff. During the fight, one of the Sabbat shot the Sheriff from a distance with a rifle, and Brodry is trying to find out who it was so they can be dealt with for disrupting the duel.
Nobody was of low enough generation to bring the Sheriff out of torpor, so he was just destroyed (Brodry said they could do what they wanted, as long as they didn't diablerize him).
Over the course of the night, the ducti and priests of the three packs in town got together to settle on who would assume leadership in the city, since the Dominion wasn't going to be trusted with command. Sean's character, Erik Bratovich, was chosen with the support of the ducti, and nobody challenged it.
There was a Blood Bath consecrated as a Vaulderie, and we did a Fire Dance. And everyone went home more or less happy.
And that's it. I'm headed out in a few to handle my grandmother's grocery shopping, then I'll be hitting the Book n Bean. Later.
