The bad news first... I'm a moron.
It turns out my computer had an Ethernet port after all. I just had trouble finding it in the middle of the three-dozen other ports on the back.
The good news is, I've finally got a broadband connection. Woot!
Y'know, now that I've got a DSL account, this means that there's a bunch of stuff I've held myself back from getting that I can now download in a reasonable amount of time... PDF's off of DriveThruRPG, for instance. Well, I was browsing, and it occurred to me that I never did get around to checking Goodman Games to see if they'd come out with any new X-Crawl books. I checked and saw that a new book had indeed come out some time before GenCon and I had yet to pick it up.
I feel crummy going so long without checking back on the books... I mean, the line has moved to a different company, but the original creators are still involved with the material and those are some cool dudes. It's like looking at the names on your IM list and realizing you haven't IMed a couple of those people in a year or more.
I should pick that book up soon and give it a once-over and drop those guys a line to let them know I'm still following X-Crawl. The Pandahead Games folks are pretty cool guys, and not only recognize me on sight at cons but I'm on a first-name basis with them.
I feel crummy now...
